" 'Flowers leave their fragrance in the hand that bestows them' is one of my favorite quotes.  And indeed Barbara Wise carefully walks the reader thru her recipes for container gardening and being able to share those lovely touches every season of the year.  Container Gardening for All Seasons entices the reader to want to put on their gardening gloves and go dig in the dirt!" - U.S. Representative Marsha Blackburn (TN-7)
"I had a chance to look at the book - great job, lots of ideas, should not be hard for someone to find something they enjoy looking at - and creating it.  Container gardening has been a major trend in gardening for the last 10 years, and is here to stay, so the book should be well received and enjoy excellent staying power. Congratulations, what you have done takes ability, knowledge but much more than that, persistence and belief in yourself.  Well done." - Dr. Allan Armitage (Dr. Armitage was the only living person chosen among the top 10 “Spheres of Influence” in the floriculture business by his colleagues; he is the recipient of The Scott Medal and Award for contributions to American horticulture by the Scott Foundation in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, arguably the most prestigious honor in ornamental horticulture and The Medal of Honor, the highest award possible from the Garden Club of America, as well as many other awards too numerous to list!)

"Container Gardening for All Seasons is the book I've been waiting for!  If you're looking for inspiration, technique or tips this book has it all.  Well organized and wonderfully illustrated this book is great for beginners and jaded old gardeners like myself.  Whether you are looking for containers by season or by color it's easy to find them.  I poured through the pages making notes of containers and ideas that I'm plagiarizing for my own garden.  Well done and well written!" - Jimmy Turner, Senior Director of Gardens, Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

"If you've recently downsized and thought you had to give up gardening, this book will convince you otherwise. The author shows myriad ways to maximize a small space with eye-popping color and creative planting. The author, Barbara Wise, provides a shopping list of materials and a helpful planting diagram for each of the more than 100 container options. Designed like a recipe book, the book offers specific instructions for each container. Gardeners can choose the recipes by season that fit the sun and shade conditions of their landscape. Colorful fall and winter container choices are also included, so you can keep your patio or deck pretty year-round." - Chicago Tribune Primetime

I was talking to my 20 yr. old son just now about how I was struggling with how to handle some negative feedback on my book after weeks of great feedback and he says to me, "Remember the words of John Wooden: 'You can't let praise or criticism get to you. It's a weakness to get caught up in either one.'"
I love these moments when the reality hits me square in the face that it really doesn't matter what the outside world says about my professional work; what matters is that I have sons who have grown up to be men of encouragement and wisdom. My real work is sitting beside me, helping me keep a proper perspective on life.
